Directions

- In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the butter, milk, and water until warm. Stir to combine.
- Add the warm liquid mixture and pumpkin puree to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Using a sharp knife, make 8 evenly spaced cuts around each ball of dough, about halfway through the dough.
