Ingredients

  • 2 sheets (1 package) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each thawed puff pastry sheet into a 12x12-inch square. Cut each sheet into 6 even squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture diagonally across each square, leaving space around the edges.
  5. Fold one corner of the puff pastry over the cream cheese mixture, then fold the opposite corner over to form a triangle. Press the edges together to seal.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of water. Brush the top of each Quesito with the egg wash.
  7. In another small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the Quesitos.
  8. Place the Quesitos on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. While the Quesitos are baking, prepare the glaze by combining the milk, water, and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat.
  10. Once the Quesitos are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  11. Drizzle the prepared glaze over the warm Quesitos and serve.
  12. Enjoy the delicious Quesitos!
