Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup thick yogurt
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the ginger and garlic, and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add the onion and tomato, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, red chili powder, and turmeric, and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the yogurt and cream, and stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Season with salt to taste, and garnish with cilantro.
  7. Serve with rice or naan.
