Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Slowly stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the prepared cake pan. Arrange the plum slices over the butter. Pour the batter over the plums, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
