Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Add dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  7. Drop teaspoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  9. Let cool before serving.
