Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 cups sliced fresh peaches
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating until smooth.
- Spread batter into the prepared pan. Arrange peaches over top of batter. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
- In a medium bowl, beat whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
- Serve warm cake with a dollop of whipped cream.
