Ingredients

  • 1lb ground beef
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 diced green pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (15oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Directions

  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook ground beef with onion and green pepper until beef is no longer pink.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and salt.
  4. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in kidney beans and cook for 5 more minutes.
  6. Serve hot with your favourite toppings.
