Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 4 slices of Panettone, about 1 inch thick
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- Maple syrup, for serving
- Powdered sugar, for serving
Directions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
- Soak each slice of panettone in the egg mixture for about 1 minute on each side, being careful not to soak for too long or the bread will become soggy.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. When the butter is melted, add the panettone slices and cook for about 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Serve the French toast with maple syrup or powdered sugar, or both!
