Ingredients

  • 2 ahi tuna steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup blood orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

  1. Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ahi tuna steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  4. Remove the ahi tuna from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the blood orange juice, honey, ginger, and sesame oil.
  6. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  7. Return the ahi tuna steaks to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the tuna is cooked through.
