Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 2 cups of hot water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they’re golden brown.
  3. Stir in the flour until everything is combined.
  4. Add the stock cube and hot water and stir until the stock cube has dissolved.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot over bangers and mash.
