Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the rice, water and butter. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
  4. Uncover the pan and fluff the rice with a fork. Taste and add salt, if desired.
  5. Serve the rice warm.
