Ingredients
2 cups of rolled oats
1/2 cup of molasses
2 1/2 cups of warm water
3 tablespoons of active dry yeast
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of salt
3 tablespoons of melted butter
6 cups of all-purpose flour
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, molasses, warm water, yeast, sugar, and salt. Stir until combined.
Add the melted butter and stir until combined.
Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, stirring until combined after each addition.
Once all of the flour has been added, knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a large greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and knead for an additional 5 minutes.
Divide the dough into 2 equal portions and shape into loaves.
Place the loaves on a greased baking sheet and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the loaves for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
