Ingredients
- 4 cups of fresh sliced peaches
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 1/4 cup of cold water
- 1 cup of self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of boiling water
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine the peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and cold water. Add to the peach mixture and stir until combined.
- Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and 1/2 cup of sugar. Cut in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the flour mixture over the top of the peach mixture.
- Pour the boiling water over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
