Ingredients

  • 4 cups of fresh sliced peaches
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of allspice
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of cold water
  • 1 cup of self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of boiling water

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and cold water. Add to the peach mixture and stir until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour and 1/2 cup of sugar. Cut in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the flour mixture over the top of the peach mixture.
  7. Pour the boiling water over the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
