Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating until just combined.
  5. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
  6. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
