- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, beating until just combined.
- Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
- Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
