Ingredients
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped nuts, optional
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350˚F (175˚C). Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar until combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips or nuts, if using.
- Drop the dough by heaping tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
