2 (15-ounce) cans black-eyed peas, drained and rinsed
1 (32-ounce) carton low-sodium chicken broth
Directions
In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pot and set aside.
Add the onion and celery to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, and oregano and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add the black-eyed peas and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the bacon and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Serve warm.
