Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup fried onions
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and sauté for 3 minutes.
- Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Slowly add the chicken broth and cream, whisking until smooth. Cook for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Add the green beans and Parmesan cheese to the sauce and stir until combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish and top with the fried onions.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the green beans are tender and the sauce is bubbling.
