Directions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Whisk in the milk until combined.
- Place the pan over medium-high heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and cook, stirring constantly, until the pudding is thick and creamy, about 2 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the butter, chocolate chips, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes.
- Serve immediately, or cover and chill for up to 3 days.
