Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pound spaghetti

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain fat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the wine and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente.
  6. Drain and return to pot.
  7. Add the sauce and stir to combine.
  8. Serve hot.
