Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
2/3 cup milk
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and milk, and mix until just blended.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter or glass.
Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Interesting Facts
Baking powder biscuits are sometimes called "quick biscuits" because they are made quickly and without yeast.
The best way to make biscuits is to use cold butter and milk, as this will give them a flaky texture.
Biscuits are best served warm, with butter, honey, or jelly.
