Ingredients

  • 1 lb. mushrooms
  • 1/2 lb. crab meat
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Chop stems and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and chopped mushroom stems and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add crab meat, sherry, flour, garlic powder, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add half-and-half and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese.
  7. Stuff mushroom caps with crab mixture. Place filled mushrooms on a baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Serve warm.
