Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the mussels to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, or until the mussels have opened.
  4. Stir in the parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute more.
  5. Serve the mussels in the skillet with the cooking liquid and enjoy!
