Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cooked millet
  • 1/2 cup of butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease an 8 inch pie dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the cooked millet, butter or margarine, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg together until well blended.
  3. Stir in the raisins, walnuts, honey, and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder. Stir in the vegetable oil until the mixture is crumbly.
  5. Press the millet mixture into the prepared pie dish. Sprinkle the flour and oil mixture over the top of the millet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let cool before serving.
