Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup lukewarm water

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add the olive oil and mix until combined.
  3. Slowly add the lukewarm water and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a thin circle about 6 inches in diameter.
  7. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place one of the tortillas in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side, until lightly browned.
  8. Transfer the cooked tortilla to a plate and repeat with the remaining tortillas.
  9. Serve warm.
