Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions
- Preheat oven to 250°F.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy.
- Add in the cream of tartar, salt, and almond extract and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar, about a tablespoon at a time, and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Drop the meringue mixture by the tablespoonful onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the meringues are crisp and lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
