Ingredients
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
Directions
- Fill a large pot with 1 inch of water and bring to a boil.
- Add the trimmed asparagus to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Remove the asparagus from the boiling water and place in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
- Once cooled, remove the asparagus from the ice water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Place the asparagus in a steamer basket and steam for 3-5 minutes until heated through.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.
- Pour the butter mixture over the asparagus and stir to coat.
- Serve the asparagus warm and enjoy!
