Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix together until everything is well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls and set aside.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened.
  6. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, until browned.
  7. Add the white wine and cook for 2 minutes, until the alcohol has cooked off.
  8. Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and bring to a simmer.
  9. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are cooked through.
  10. Add the cream and stir to combine.
  11. Serve the meatballs with the sauce over mashed potatoes or with a side of steamed vegetables.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
