Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 pound cooked spaghetti

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, egg, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
  2. Form into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 3 minutes.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
  5. Add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Stir in the parsley and simmer for 5 minutes more.
  7. Serve over cooked spaghetti.
