Basic Sauce for Pasta
Ingredients
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of butter, softened
1 cup of white sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
