Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup liquid hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, diced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter, 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Press mixture into the prepared pie plate.
  3. In a large bowl, combine 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, apples, liquid hot sauce, brown sugar, white sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Spoon mixture into the prepared crust.
  4. Top with diced butter. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
