Ingredients

  • 3 fresh limes
  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • Ice cubes
  • Salt, for rimming the glass
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Optional: sliced jalapenos, for extra spice

Directions

  1. Cut one lime into wedges for garnish, set aside.
  2. Juicer the remaining limes to extract the juice.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine the lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, agave syrup, and chili powder.
  4. Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds to chill the mixture.
  5. Rim the glass with salt by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into a plate of salt.
  6. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  7. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass, taking care not to include the ice cubes from the shaker.
  8. Garnish with a lime wedge and, if desired, sliced jalapenos for an extra kick of spice.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
