Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, bread crumbs, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix together until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato paste, chicken broth, honey, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  5. Add the meatballs to the pan and cook for 10 minutes, turning once or twice, until cooked through.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove from the heat and stir in the parsley. Serve immediately.
