Ingredients
2 packages active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup candied fruit
1/2 cup chopped blanched almonds
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
Directions
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and yeast mixture. Beat until smooth.
Add flour, raisins, candied fruit, and almonds. Mix until combined.
Knead dough for 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface or in a stand mixer until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Punch down dough and divide in half. Shape each half into a round loaf and place on a greased baking sheet.
Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
