Directions
In a medium-sized pot, add the rice, water, and cardamom powder. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.
Add the sugar or jaggery, ghee, raisins, and nuts. Stir to combine and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Add the milk, stir to combine and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and let cool before serving. Serve warm or chilled.
