Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, cider vinegar, garlic, black pepper, sugar, bay leaves, paprika, oregano, cumin, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until thoroughly combined.
  2. Add the sirloin steak to the marinade and turn to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Remove the steak from the marinade and add it to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the steak is cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. Add the marinade and 2 tablespoons of water to the skillet. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Serve the steak with the sauce.
