Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 inch piece of ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh cilantro
Directions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 3 minutes until onion is soft.
- Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is browned.
- Add the potatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the tomato paste, cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, and chili powder. Stir to combine.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and stir. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and sauce is thick.
- Add the cilantro and stir to combine.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
