Ingredients

3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 (28-ounce) can crushed or diced tomatoes
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste

Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add the garlic and onion and cook until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
Bring the sauce to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
