Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, about 4-5 pounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Rinse the chicken and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Place the chicken in a roasting pan. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and rub it to coat.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil, pepper, and salt. Sprinkle the mixture over the chicken, rubbing it in with your hands.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear.
  6. Let chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
