Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and egg.
  3. On a lightly greased rimmed baking sheet, shape the meat mixture into a log and press the shredded mozzarella cheese firmly into the top and sides of the log.
  4. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  5. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
