Ingredients

  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 teaspoon food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon flavoring extract

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and boiling water and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Add the food coloring and flavoring extract.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to low.
  4. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  6. Pour the syrup into a serving pitcher and serve with ice cold snow cones.
