Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup Irish whiskey
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ketchup, whiskey, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from the heat and let cool slightly before serving.
