This Classic Creamy Flan is a Spanish dessert made with eggs, sugar, and milk. It has a smooth and creamy texture, with a caramel sauce that adds a perfect touch of sweetness. Enjoy this decadent treat with your favorite cup of coffee or as a dessert after a hearty meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved and caramelized.
  3. Pour caramelized sugar into a 9-inch round baking dish, tilting to evenly coat the bottom.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Strain egg mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan. Fill the larger pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the smaller pan.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the flan is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the flan and invert onto a plate.
  10. Slice and enjoy the creamy goodness of Classic Creamy Flan!
