Ingredients
1 1/2 cups basmati rice
3 tablespoons ghee
1/4 cup cashew nuts, chopped
1/4 cup raisins

Salt, to taste
Directions
Rinse the basmati rice in a fine-mesh sieve until the water runs clear. Set aside.
Heat the ghee in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the cashew nuts and raisins and cook until lightly toasted, about 2 minutes.
Add the turmeric and cook for 1 minute.
Add the rice and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let the rice stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork and season with salt, to taste.
Serve warm.
