Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup taco seasoning (or to taste)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 head of lettuce, shredded
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 20-30 corn or flour tortillas

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add the taco seasoning and water to the beef and stir to combine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Carefully add a tortilla to the hot oil and fry until lightly golden and crisp, about 1 minute per side.
  5. Drain the fried tortillas on a paper towel-lined plate.
  6. To assemble the tacos, place a generous spoonful of the beef mixture into the center of each tortilla.
  7. Top with a sprinkle of cheese, lettuce, and your favorite taco toppings.
