Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup shredded carrot
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground pork until browned.
- Add the carrots, onion, celery, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cabbage and green onion. Cook for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Lay one wonton wrapper in front of you. Place 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper in half, forming a triangle. Seal the edges of the triangle using a bit of water.
- Repeat with the remaining wrappers and pork mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot to 375 degrees F.
- Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
- Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
