Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 3/4 cup milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the butter and using a pastry blender or two forks, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead just until the dough comes together. Pat or roll the dough into a 1-inch thick round.
  6. Using a biscuit cutter or a glass, cut out the biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Re-roll the scraps as needed.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown.
