Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 cup reduced-sodium beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the chili powder and cumin and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and salt. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Serve on toasted buns.
