Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.
Add mashed bananas and sour cream, and mix until well combined. Add in dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
