Ingredients

  • 1 pound shishito peppers
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shishito peppers with the olive oil, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to coat.
  2. Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Place the peppers on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the peppers are softened and charred in spots.
  3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.
  4. Transfer the cooked peppers to a plate and serve with the soy aioli for dipping.
