Ingredients

  • 1 cup Jarlsberg cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the flour and whisk until combined. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Whisk in the milk and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the cheese and stir until melted. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
  6. Serve warm with crackers, chips or vegetables of your choice.
